Coach Russ Rose, Penn State Head Coach, believes that a key component to the future of volleyball is the implementation of the back row attacker. As the game evolves there are opportunities to use players in different areas of the court and that the back row is critical to develop for increasing a team's ability to score. Rose begins by teaching strategies and drills to develop a back row player's awareness of the proper position from which to take a quality swing. Includes footwork and zone identification drills - both with and without the ball. Rose also includes drills and situational options to assist in implementation of the back row attack. Rose concludes with scenarios focusing on the technical aspects for utilizing the back row as a scoring threat. 34 minutes.
